Can you advise me on how to get the correct ring size?

If you do not know your ring size it is best to have your finger sized by a professional jeweller. It would also be helpful to know the width of the sizer that has been used. Rings can be made in 1/4 and 1/2 sizes.  If it is not possible to get to a jeweller, please email us your postal address and we can send you a free ring sizing card.
info@artifact.co.nz  We accept all sizing systems from all countries. (A-Z, mm, inches, etc.)

What happens if I order the wrong size and my ring doesn’t fit?

Most of our rings (depending on the style) can be sized up or down. First ring resizings with return delivery by airmail (up to 10 working days) are free of charge. Getting the correct ring size in the beginning may save you having to send it back to us for resizing.
Please note most rings with stones can not be resized so do not fall under the free sizing service.

Can you explain the different finishes?
Titanium ring finishes 2
The polished finish on our rings is a near mirror finish. The brushed finish has fine brush marks around the ring. The satin is a very fine sandblasted finish and the matt is a coarse sandblasted finish, which gives the titanium  the darker look.

What is the blue colour on the titanium ring?
BlueRingSamples
The blue on the titanium is a natural oxide formed by heat. Various shades of blue, purple and black can be achieved.

Inside ring engraving

We can engrave your ring in the below mentioned styles up to 35 to 40 characters including spaces, depending on ring size. Inside ring engraving is free of charge.

Is titanium scratch resistant?

Titanium rings are very strong and durable, but like the precious metals they can scratch (depending on the wearer). The 6AL4V (aircraft grade) titanium will  still scratch, but less than the pure titanium.

How do I care for my titanium ring
?

Titanium rings are easily maintained. They can be cleaned with hot water and soap or buffed up with a polishing cloth. For more thorough cleaning, you can use brasso or a stainless steel polish. If the ring is badly scratched it will need to be refinished by a jeweller or we can do this for you if you prefer. For brushed finishes you can use a scotch pad (the ones used for cleaning pots) with water and liquid soap.

What grade titanium do you use?

We mostly use grade 4 pure titanium. We can also make the rings in grade 2 or in Titanium 6AL4V (aircraft grade).

Can the ring be cut off in an emergency?

Titanium rings can be cut off a person's finger in an emergency using sharp ring cutters.

How do I arrange payment?

Payment by credit card is the easiest but if you prefer a different option please let us know.     We also accept international Bank Cheques, international Money Orders, Bank Transfers and
Western Union. We will accept a bank deposit or personal cheque for New Zealand orders only.

Do you make custom made rings?

All our rings are individually made to order. If you do have something specific in mind, please feel free to email us a drawing or picture so we can consider the possibilities and give you a quote.
